Webinar Recap: The Top 7 Questions SAP HCM Customers Are Asking About SuccessFactors And The Move To The Cloud

Last week I attended a very informative webinar run by Danielle Larocca called “The Top 7 Questions SAP HCM Customers Are Asking About SuccessFactors And The Move To The Cloud.” If you missed this webinar and would like to see the video, please click here. We wanted to add three additional questions that came in from session attendees to the seven that Danielle answered in her session. Here are the extra questions:

Does the Payroll Processing Control Center work with SAP Fiori or SAP UI5?

The Payroll processing Control Center is new and the best place to find the answer to that question is here: SAP Service Marketplace Payroll Processing Control Center https://websmp209.sap-ag.de/public/rds-pcc. There was also a good session at the HR2015 Conference by Ralf Wagner called “Introducing the SAP Payroll Control Center Add-On: Lessons for Enhancing Payroll Operations with the Real-Time Capabilities of SAP HANA.”

Does HR Renewal simplify linking of OM to PA?  Or do you still create a position separately and then you can run action to hire?

The best place to start for that question is here: SAP Service Marketplace HR Renewal https://help.sap.com/hr_renewal. Jeremy Masters also gave a great presentation at HR2015 called  “Latest Enhancements in SAP ERP HCM Self-Services: HR Renewal, SAP Fiori, and SAPUI5”.  In it, he detailed the different pieces of functionality and the evolution of how SAP arrived at each one.  He also goes on to detail the technology options pros and cons.

My understanding is that we still keep the SAP back-end. Based on that and considering we already have a front end, which is not SuccessFactors, is there any issue with implementing SuccessFactors modules?

This is the currently the most popular model in use today, called the Hybrid model.  “Are there any issues?” is a pretty big question that I get a lot. I can say that there is built-in integration between SAP on-premise and the SuccessFactors modules that works.  As part of SAP’s messaging, I believe they do say it is easier to integrate from SuccessFactors Employee Central than on-premise SAP but using the SAP backend is far more prevalent.

I am already looking forward to the next webinar on April 14 with Becky Pifer!
